The Oppo F23 5G, Oppo’s Redmi Note 12 Pro rival, has been launched in India. Oppo, with its F-series phones, typically focuses on camera performance without being too pricey. This year, the company is also boasting Oppo F23’s battery capacity after releasing a report on Nomophobia -the fear of being left without a phone – trigged by a dead battery. The new Oppo F23 looks similar to the premium Reno 8 series with some tweaks in the rear camera deck. One of the key features is that it includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage without cost above Rs 25,000 – a rare feat in the Android phone world.

Oppo F23 5G price in India and offers
The Oppo F23 5G will be available in two colours – Bold Gold and Cool Black on May 18. The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model is available for pre-order for Rs 24,999 from the Oppo India store, Amazon, and mainline retail outlets. It carries an MRP of Rs 28,999.

Oppo F23 5G specifications and features
The Oppo F23 5G focuses on the design to attract budget-focused customers, though there are some compromises to maintain the phone’s affordability. It features a relatively slim body, measuring 8.2mm and weighing 192 grams despite a tall 6.7-inch display. Oppo has used an LCD display with Full-HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 96 per cent colour gamut in Vivid mode.
It means the phone can offer decent colours, though you will have to change the display setting. This might be a hassle compared to the more popular (and expensive) AMOLED screens.

The Oppo F23 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery — a relatively standard combo on entry-level mid-budget phones. The battery supports 67W fast charging to give the phone an edge over competitors. Oppo notes its proprietary 67W SuperVOOC flash charging offers a 50 per cent charge in 18 minutes, while a 5-minute charge can provide up to 6 hours of phone calls or 2.5 hours of YouTube video viewing. On a full charge, its 5000mAh battery lasts up to 39 hours of phone calls and 16 hours of YouTube video viewing. However, this will drop to 1-day 5G, high-refresh-rate enabled, and AOD (always on display).
Moreover, the company claims that the Oppo Battery Health Engine on the Oppo F23 ensures that the device can be charged-discharged 1600 times, which means the smartphone would perform at close to optimal capacity for up to four years.
