Vodafone Idea (Vi) has not yet launched its 5G services in India. The company has been planning to launch 5G for several months, but the launch has been delayed due to financial difficulties. On contrary its rivals Jio and Airtel have already deployed their 5G services across significant cities and are planning to roll out 5G PAN India by 2024. This has further made things difficult for Vi as it is witnessing a decline in its active user base. To address this issue, Vi is introducing new plans with added benefits. In its latest release, Vi has launched a new prepaid plan aimed at users seeking a long-term option.

According to Telecom Talk, Vi has recently added a new plan under its prepaid plan listing priced at Rs 549. With calling and data benefits, the plan is reportedly curated for Vi users who are looking for longer-validity plans. Let’s take a brief look at all the offerings of the new Vi Rs 549 plan.
Vi Rs 548 plan details
As per the plan details available on Vi’s official website, the new Rs 549 prepaid plan offers a service validity of 180 days. Further, it provides a total of 1GB of data, with additional data available through data vouchers. National and local calls are charged at 2.5 paise/second, and the plan includes a limited talk time of Rs 549.
However, this plan does not offer any SMS benefits, which may disappoint some consumers. It is also unclear whether consumers on this plan would be able to send port-out SMSes or not, as per TRAI directive.
Vi has possibly released this plan for consumers who want to keep their secondary Vi SIMs active for the long term.

Both plans offer 30 days of benefits, including unlimited calls, 2GB of data per day, 100 SMS per day, Binge All Night, weekend data rollover facility, Vi movies and TV subscription, and up to 2GB of data backup every month. The Binge All Night offer provides unlimited data at a regular speed between 12 midnight to 6 am.
The only significant difference between the two plans is the inclusion of app subscriptions. The Rs 368 plan provides access to the SunNxt app, while the Rs 369 plan includes access to the SonyLiv app.
