Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that Instagram users will now be able to add up to 5 links to their bio. With the latest update, Instagram is taking on third-party link-in bio solutions like Linktree and Beacons.

Announced by Zuckerberg on his Instagram broadcast channel, Meta CEO said that this was one of the most requested features of all time.

The reason why services like LinkTree have thrived in the last couple of years is that apps like Instagram and TikTok have restricted users from adding links to other websites because they think it might redirect users to rival websites. Instagram’s latest feature will be available to both business accounts and content creators, unlike TikTok, which restricts clickable links to business accounts.

How to add multiple links to Instagram bio
To add links to your Instagram bio, simply head over to your profile page and tap on the ‘Edit profile’ button. Now, head over to the ‘Links’ section and click on ‘Add external link’. Here, users will be able to add links as well as drag and drop and reorder them as well.

One thing to note here is that external links won’t have any special customisation options like small icons and they will open inside the Instagram app. Meta has also confirmed that it won’t be blocking any links to LinkTree or other similar services.
