India records 12,591 new Covid cases, highest in around 8 months

India on Thursday recorded 12,591 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, the highest in around eight months, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday. The active caseload now stands at 65,286.

The daily positivity rate stands at 5.46 percent and the weekly positivity rate is 5.32 percent.
