PAN Aadhaar linking last date has been extended to June 30, 2023, to provide some more time to taxpayers. The earlier deadline was March 31, 2023.
As per the latest notification released by the Income Tax Department on Tuesday, PAN holders who have not yet linked their PAN with Aadhaar can visit the online website of Income Tax Department for PAN-Aadhaar linking without any adverse consequences until June 30, 2023.

However, from July 1, 2023, PAN that is not linked with Aadhaar will be rendered inoperative and will result in consequences.

The inoperative PAN can be reactivated within 30 days by notifying the designated Income Tax authority and paying a fee of Rs 1,000 after linking it with Aadhaar.
There will be no refund provided for inoperative PANs and no interest will be paid on any such refunds during the period of inoperability. Moreover, a higher rate of TDS and TCS will be levied.

- Visit the income tax e-filing portal (https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/)
- Click on the “Link Aadhaar” option under the “Quick Links” section on the left-hand side of the page.
- Enter your PAN, Aadhaar number, and name as per Aadhaar.
- Check the box if only the birth year is mentioned on the Aadhaar card.
- Enter the Captcha code for verification.
- Click on the “Link Aadhaar” button.
- A pop-up message will appear confirming the successful linking of Aadhaar with PAN.
How to Link PAN with Aadhaar through SMS?
PAN card holders can also link their PAN card with Aadhaar card by sending an SMS to 567678 or 56161 in the following format:

After sending the SMS, you will receive a confirmation message from the Income Tax Department.

- Visit the official website of the Income Tax Department of India: https://www.incometax.gov.in/
- Click on the “Link Aadhaar” option under the “Quick Links” section on the right-hand side of the page.
- On the next page, click on the “Click Here” button to go to the PAN-Aadhaar linking status check page.
- Enter your PAN number and Aadhaar number in the respective fields.
