Britannia’s owner is now the richest biscuit manufacturer in the world, check net worth

New Delhi: Hurun, the World’s largest rich list provider, launched the 12th Anniversary Edition of 2023 M3M Hurun Global rich list on Wednesday. The list includes five sectors — healthcare, paints, aviation, telecom and biscuit manufacturing — where Indian billionaires have been featured as the richest in the world. Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani, with a wealth of USD 82 billion, has surpassed Gautam Adani to bag the richest Indian title.

As per the latest list, Nulsi Wadia and Family of Britannia Industries is the richest biscuit manufacturer in the world. Their net worth is $8.2 billion. The list also features vaccine manufacturer Cyrus S Poonawalla, Ashwin S Dani & Family, Mukesh Ambani, Rakesh Gangwal and Rahul Bhatia . The list has been released in association with M3M India.

With 187 billionaires residing in India and 16 new additions, India continues to be the third-largest billionaire-producing nation in the world. India is only behind China and the United States in the billionaire count.

Industrialist Cyrus S Poonawalla of Serum Institute of India is the richest healthcare billionaire in the world ($27 billion), followed by Dilip Shanghvi and family ($17 billion) of Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries. With a wealth of $7.1 billion, Ashwin S Dani and Family is the richest paint entrepreneur in the world though they are down 108 ranks this year.

Where does Gautam Adani stand?

Gautam Adani is the third richest energy entrepreneur in the 2023 M3M Hurun Global Rich List. He is down 11 ranks over the last year. Gautam Adani and his family’s wealth dropped by 35%. As per the report, Adani lost Rs 3,000 crore every week over the last year. Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Sergey Brin, Larry Page and MacKenzie Scott followed by Gautam Adani and Family and Mukesh Ambani were amount the biggest losers who saw their wealth plunged by billions.

“The Adani Group lost the second richest Asian title to Zhong Shanshan of YST. After a report in January by US short-seller Hindenburg led to Adani seeing his wealth down by more than 60% from his peak. Just before the report, Adani was briefly the world’s second richest person,” the report stated.

Byju Raveendran & family ranked 994 with a wealth of $3.3 billion. They recorded a jump of 1,005 spots in the last three years. Byju is the second richest education entrepreneur in the world.
