New Delhi: Amid buzz over the return of iconic brand Campa Cola, Coca-Cola has reportedly reduced the prices of 200 ml bottle by Rs 5. The company has reduced prices of its stock-keeping units in some of the states, a report said. The development comes after Reliance Consumer Products announced reintroduction of Campa Cola, the 50-year-old iconic brand in three different varieties.

Earlier this week, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Retail Ventures Limited relaunched Campa Cola in cola, lemon, and orange varieties in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The products will also be rolled out in other states in the coming months.
Campa Cola: Analysts hint at price wars within soft-drinks space
As reported earlier, analysts and market experts have been speculating that Reliance’s move could trigger a price war in the soft-drinks space. While Reliance has not revealed the prices of these products so far, sources had told ET NOW that they could be priced lesser than Coke, or Pepsi.

“Yes, there could be an initial impact in consumer offtake. We have to step up our own marketing and promotional spends, which we are doing,” an executive at a regional brand was quoted as saying by Economic Times.
Reports had subsequently suggested that Coca-Cola and Pepsico had directed their respective teams to focus on consumer promotions and discounts and local marketing spends. There has, however, been no confirmation regarding the same. ET NOW could not independently verify the claims regarding the revised Coke prices in certain states as claimed by the reports.
