Lucknow: The ‘UP Rahi’ app is now available on the Google Play store and can be downloaded for free.
Launched with the aim of improving Uttar Pradesh’s transport system, ‘UP Rahi’ is a ticket booking and passenger feedback app. The new application, launched on Saturday, will allow passengers to make online reservations from anywhere, news agency ANI reported.
With the introduction of this app, lakhs of passengers of the state travelling in the bus will now be able to travel hassle-free. Here are the salient features that make it handy:

- In addition to allowing users to pre-book bus tickets from anywhere, the ‘UP Rahi’ app also offers cashless services.
- The passengers will also be able to give their feedback and report their complaints related to their journey. The behaviour of the driver-conductor, the condition of the bus, and other related issues are covered on the app.
- Apart from English, the app can also be accessed in Hindi, a press release by the UP government said.
- According to UPSRTC General Manager IT Yuzvendra Kumar, passengers will be able to book tickets through the app after completing the registration window that pops up when it is opened.
- The Aadhaar or PAN card number can be used to ascertain one’s identity. After registration, an ID and password will be generated enabling the person to use the app.
- Passengers will be able to track their previous journeys using the app. They can keep all of their previous transactions secure in this way. In addition, when purchasing tickets, Customers will have a choice to opt for a bus of their choice while booking the ticket.
- Volvo and non-stop services are specially categorised in the app. There will be information on all bus types, such as low-floor AC buses, Rajdhani, Ordinary, Janrath, AC Sleeper, Pink Express, Shatabdi, and Gramin Sewa.
- Ticket cancellation is also permitted over the app.
- Problems related to the unavailability of exact change with the bus staff and the passengers and failure of online transactions due to poor network coverage can be avoided by the pre-ticket booking option put forth by ‘UP Rahi’. “With the introduction of the app, you will get rid of all these hassles. To purchase tickets through the app, users can use a QR code, UPI, credit card, debit card, or any other digital payment method. Passengers will not need to take a printout of the ticket after booking the ticket. They can travel by showing the status of ticket booking on the app itself,” Yuzvendra Kumar was quoted as saying by ANI.
