At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures slated to expire on April 5 remained steady at Rs 55,416 per 10 grams (24-carat) on Sunday. Silver futures with expiry on March 3, however, came down significantly by Rs 900 on MCX, quoting Rs 63,450 per kg.
Internationally, gold prices fell to their lowest in eight weeks last week amid stronger dollar and bond yields as the market braced for more Fed interest rate hikes in the coming months. Spot gold fell 0.6 percent to $1,810.89 per ounce, having touched its lowest since December 30, at $1,808.7. US gold futures slipped 0.5 percent to settle at $1,817.70.
