At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures with expiry due on April 5 rose marginally by Rs 42 to Rs 56,270 per ten grams on Sunday. In the previous session, the precious metal quoted Rs 56,228 per ten grams at close.
Likewise, silver futures with expiry due on March 3 edged higher by Rs 28 to Rs 65,661 per kg on MCX, against the previous day’s close of Rs 65,633 per kg.
Internationally, gold prices last week logged their third straight weekly dip, weighed down by a stronger dollar and bond yields following fresh hawkish rhetoric from US Fed officials. Spot gold price was $1,839.09 per ounce, after earlier falling to its lowest since late December. Prices have fallen 1.4 percent last week. US gold futures fell 0.8 percent to $1,838.40.
