Every year in the Hindu month of Magha, the celebration of Jaya Ekadashi is performed. It is this time of the year when Lord Vishnu is worshipped. As per the Hindu calendar, Ekadashi tithi of Magha Shukla paksha is known as Jaya Ekadashi. The name Jaya comes from the gatekeeper of Lord Vishnu’s heavenly abode, Vaikuntha. JAYA EKADASHI 2023: SIGNIFICANCE
The Hindu Puranas mention the importance of observing the fast in the Ekadashi Tithi. It is believed that Lord Krishna narrated the importance of this fast to king Yudhishthira. And people get rid of their past sins and the ones committed in the previous birth by following the rituals of this Ekadashi.
