Jio, Airtel and Vi offer a wide range of prepaid plans to cater to the different requirements of their customers. The three leading telecom operators in India have recharge plans ranging from annual to monthly or from budget to expensive with added benefits. But when it comes to budget or cheapest plan, all three offer plans above the mark of Rs 100.
Airtel which does have a plan listed at Rs 99, is also getting replaced due to tariff hikes. Reports suggest that not only Airtel but Jio and Vi will increase the tariffs of existing plans by 10 per cent. A report by Business Insider earlier revealed that telecom operators including Jio and Airtel might announce a 10 per cent hike in tariffs consequently in the next 3 years i.e. Q4 of FY23, FY24 & FY25. This will lead to a hike in the prices of mobile plans every fourth quarter of the coming years.

Vi Rs 129 plan
VodafoneIdea offers unlimited calling, 200MB total internet data and 0 SMS for a plan validity of 18 days.
While all the telecom operators are offering unlimited calling, they are compromising with either internet, SMS or validity to cut costs and offer a minimum price tag. But which telco offers the best value on their cheapest prepaid plan?
Reliance Jio offers a Rs 119 plan with 14 days validity. That means the plan costs Rs 8.5 per day. On the other hand, Airtel offers Rs 155 with 24 days validity. So the plan costs Rs 6.4 per day. Similarly, Vi offers Rs 129 plan with 18 days validity so it costs Rs 7.1 per day.
Looking at the per-day costs, Airtel’s cheapest prepaid plan is more affordable. However, Jio offers unlimited calling and daily data benefits so users get more value. For Vi, the plan is just for calling and users can go with it if they use Vi as their secondary SIM. For Airtel too, 1GB total data is not enough for 24 days, so users can consider the plan if they want their Airtel SIM to remain active.
