Goddess Durga is the principal form of Shakti, worshipped by Hindus across India. She represents the fierce menacing form of her enemies and depicts the true source of inner power. Though there is an annual celebration of Durga Puja in the eastern part of India. But there is a Masik Durgastami(monthly Durga puja) dedicated to the worship Maa Durga.
This year begins with the Masik Durgastami, occurring in Magha month in the Ashtami tithi of Shukla Paksha. On this day, devotees observe a strict day-long fast to impress the Goddess. It has various religious beliefs attached to it.

MASIK DURGASTAMI 2023: PUJA RITUALS
Early morning rituals are done by the devotees on this day, starting from a holy bath to wearing clean clothes and decorating the place of worship.
Gangajaal is sprinkled to purify the house and this process is known as Sankalp.
The idols of Maa Durga are adorned with red cloth, fruits, sweets, and sindoor.
A day-long fast continues and people visit the temples of Goddess Durga.
Jagran is done to increase the virtue of fast.
Durga Chalisa is recited by the devotees.
The fast is broken by consuming prasad and satvik food prepared at home.
