In a recent development, the Uttar Pradesh state government decided that students studying below Class 10 will only receive the scholarship amount provided by the state government. The decision has been taken as the scholarship amount given by the Centre, under the Prime Minister Young Achievers Scholarship Scheme( PM YASASVI Scheme 2023), has not reached Uttar Pradesh.
As per the information, students belonging to the SC/ST nomadic and other scheduled cast minorities will receive a stipend of Rs. 2,250/-. Further, poor students belonging to the general and other scheduled cast minorities will receive a stipend of Rs. 3,000/-.
This year, the Centre has started PM YASASVI Scheme 2023. However, the scholarship amount for the same has not been decided yet. Due to this, for this academic session, students will not receive the same. From the upcoming session, the state government will begin distributing it to the students.

According to Minister of State for Backward Classes Welfare, Narendra Kashyap, around 23 lakh students receive the scholarship amount in 2021 and 2022. Due to the non-availability of the central contribution, the Uttar Pradesh government provides scholarships for these students.
As per the information, the Centre will provide Rs. 4000/- as the scholarship amount for the students. And once the state government receives the same, it will be distributed amongst the students.
