Rajasthan paper leak: House of key accused being demolished, 4 suspended from govt job

The Rajasthan government has suspended four government teachers for their alleged involvement in the question paper leak of the second-grade teacher recruitment exam. Chief minister Ashok Gehlot took to Twitter to share the information. He also added that the illegal construction work done by the accused in the matter has been demolished as per the legal procedure.

Meanwhile, demolition of illegally constructed portions of the residence of main accused Bhupendra Saran is underway in Jaipur.

The four suspended teachers were identified as Suresh Kumar, principal at Praveshika Sanskrit School, Thalia (Jalore), Bhagirath, senior science teacher at government school in Sirohi, Ravataram, senior Sanskrit teacher at Mahatma Gandhi Government School, Jaswantpura in Jalore and Pukhraj, junior assistant at government school in Jhab, Jalore.

The CM said, “According to the new law passed by the Vidhan Sabha in 2022, further effective action will be taken against the accused. The Rajasthan government will continue to take strict action against people who have the evil idea of playing with the future of the youth of our state”.

He added that some people want to do politics on this sensitive issue and warned the youth to be aware of them and continue their preparation for the upcoming recruitments. “We will not allow injustice to happen to a single hardworking youth,” tweeted Ashok Gehlot.

DEMOLITION DRIVE

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) on Saturday began the demolition of illegally constructed portions of the residence of RPSC paper leak’s main accused, Bhupendra Saran, in Jaipur. “Utmost care being taken to ensure no impact to properties of others or their own legal construction,” said Chief Enforcement Officer of JDA

DEMOLITION NOTICE TO ACCUSED

On Tuesday, January 10, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) put up a notice on Bhupendra Saran’s house saying he has 72 hours to respond before the structure is demolished. A JDA official said the house was constructed in violation of norms. The house is registered under Saran and his brother’s names.

Another legal notice was served at the Saran brothers’ house on Thursday. Both the brothers are absconding from the police in different cases. Bhupendra Saran’s brother, Gopal, is a suspended cop who is also absconding from the police in a fake-degree case.

The wives of the Saran brothers, who are also behind bars in connection with the fake degree case, filed a petition before the Rajasthan High Court in response to the notice, seeking more time from the authorities.

WHAT IS THE RAJASTHAN PAPER LEAK CASE?

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) cancelled the 2nd grade teacher competitive examination 2022 for General Knowledge after the paper got leaked before the exam commenced. The paper circulated on social media before the exam, prompting the authorities to cancel it. The exam will be conducted again on January 29.

46 examinees were barred from taking entrance examinations for a lifetime. So far, 57 people have been arrested and have been sent to judicial custody.

The mastermind in the Rajasthan paper leak, a vice principal of a government school in Jalore, had purchased the question paper from the two accused. According to Udaipur Superintendent of Police Vikas Sharma, the mastermind had taken Rs 10 lakh from people to make the paper available to them.
