Have you ever answered the phone after receiving a call from a number you didn’t recognise to hear a sales pitch or worse? You can modify the settings on your iPhone to only allow calls from your contacts if you want to lessen the number of telemarketers that phone you.
Most people are aware that your iPhone allows you to block specific callers. This is referred to as “blacklisting,” and it simply implies that you consent to take calls from everyone save from a select group of people.
But what should you do if you frequently get calls from strange numbers? You may rapidly become weary of pressing the caller’s number’s block button just to be surprised by another ring from yet another unknown number a short while later.
DO NOT DISTURB MODE ON IPHONE:
- Get your iPhone’s “Settings” app open
- Select “Do Not Disturb” from the settings menu by scrolling down
- Select “All Contacts” from the list of possibilities after tapping “Allow Calls From”
- In the Do Not Disturb menu, select the “Always” button if you wish to always filter incoming calls from unknown numbers.
- Alternatively, if you wish to block unauthorised callers only during a certain time of the day, touch the “Scheduled” button.
- All unknown incoming calls will go directly to voicemail while the Do Not Disturb mode is activated, and you won’t get any notifications or messages. When you’re trying to concentrate on something essential or when you’re trying to get some rest, this is a terrific technique to ensure that you aren’t interrupted.

SILENCE UNKNOWN CALLS:
- On your iPhone, launch the “Settings” app, then choose “Phone” from the list of options
- Toggle the switch next to “Silence Unknown Callers” to the “ON” position by scrolling down
- You may have the best of both worlds with Silence Unknown Callers: the ability to screen calls without missing any that are genuinely necessary. The call itself won’t annoy you, but you’ll still get a silent notification that you missed it.
