Telecom operators including Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) used to offer monthly prepaid plans with 28 days validity instead of 30 or 31 monthly calendar days. Due to this, users have to pay for 13 months if they recharge with monthly plans for the entire year. However, looking at the plea of consumers, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) issued a notice against the telecom operators to introduce a plan with monthly validity.
TRAI made it mandatory for telcos to add at least one recharge plan which will have full calendar month validity irrespective of the days in month. So be it a month of 28, 30 or 31, the recharge plan will be valid for an entire month. Following the orders, Jio Airtel and Vi introduced monthly validity plans. These plans offer calling and data and SMS benefits and are even pocket friendly given their validity of an entire month.

Let’s take a detailed look at all the available monthly plans offered by Jio, Airtel and Vi.
Jio monthly validity plan
Reliance Jio offers 1 calendar month validity with the plan of Rs 259. Users get a 1.5GB daily data limit along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day benefits. Additionally, the plan also offers complimentary access to Jio apps, including JioTV, JioCinema, JioSecurity and JioCloud.
Notably, Jio users can also access 5G with this plan if they have a 5G smartphone and are living in a 5G connectivity area. Jio offers 5G Welcome offer to users who have an active base plan of Rs 239 or higher.
Airtel monthly validity plan
Airtel offers two plans with 1 month validity.
Rs 111 plan: This plan offers 1 calendar month validity with a talktime of Rs 99. Users also get 200MB internet data and SMS service with Rs 1 per local SMS. The plan is beneficiary for users who use Airtel as a secondary SIM.
Rs 319 plan: The telecom operator offers 2GB daily data benefits, unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day and additional benefits of Apollo 24|7 circle, FASTag, hello tune and Wynk music with this calendar month validity plan.
Vi monthly validity plan
Vodafone Idea offers 1 month calendar validity with its Rs 319 plan. Vi users get unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day, 2GB daily data benefits. Additionally, the plan also offers binge all night, weekend data rollover, Vi movies and TV and Data delights benefits.
