Indian Railways to start Sri Jagannath Yatra train from January 25

Synopsis

The said train, apart from taking visitors to Puri’s Jagannath Temple, will also include a visit to the ancient holy city of Gaya, Varanasi, and the Baidyanath Dham temple in Jharkhand’s Deoghar. Reportedly, the Railways will be offering approximately 33% concession for the tour.

Indian Railways will be starting the Shri Jagannath Yatra tourist train that will embark on its maiden journey on January 25. This train has been launched under the Railways’ ambitious Bharat Gaurav initiative that will be covering prominent heritage and pilgrimage destinations of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and Jharkhand.

The said train, apart from taking visitors to Puri’s Jagannath Temple, will also include a visit to the ancient holy city of Gaya, Varanasi, and the Baidyanath Dham temple in Jharkhand’s Deoghar. Reportedly, the Railways will be offering approximately 33% concession for the tour.
The said train will start its journey from Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station on January 25 and return on February 1. Tourists will also have options to board or deboard the train at Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Tundla, Kanpur, Etawah, and Lucknow stations.

With regard to this, the IRCTC issued a statement stating that the launch of the IRCTC Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train launch will be in line with the Government of India initiative Dekho Apna Desh to boost domestic tourism. As per the statement, packages offered for the same are at an economical rate starting from INR 17655 per person.

It will be a 7N/ 8D tour that will make its first stop at Varanasi, where tourists will get to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple, the corridor connecting it with the ghats of River Ganga and be a part of the aarti that is performed on the banks of the river.

The tour will then proceed to Jharkhand, from where the tourists will proceed to the Baidyanath Dham temple, and then travel to Puri where a two-night stay will be arranged in hotels. When in Odisha, tourists will get to visit the Golden Beach of Puri, Jagannath Temple, and the Sun Temple at Konark.

Gaya will be the last destination, from where the train will return to Delhi on the eighth day of its journey on February 1.
