New Delhi: A day after Saudi Arabia disputed a media report that it was considering an increase in oil supply with OPEC and its allies, oil prices modestly increased in early Asian trade on Tuesday. Brent crude futures were up 17 cents, at $87.62. The price of WTI oil futures barrel increased by 7 cents, to $80.11. Despite the crude oil prices increasing in the global markets, petrol and diesel prices have remained largely stable in India as the country imports oil from Russia.

However, the price of gasoline and diesel in India has stayed largely steady since the central government cut the tax charge.
