Jeevan Pramaan: Know the steps to check status of digital life certificate

Every year, government pensioners submit a ‘life certificate’ or Jeevan Praman Patra to pension-disbursing authorities (PDAs) such as banks and post offices to continue receiving their monthly pension. Pensioners have options of submitting the Jeevan Praman Patra either by presenting themselves before PDAs or through online mode.

Individual pensioners receive Jeevan Pramaan, or DLC, based on their Aadhaar number and biometrics. Digital Life Certificate is a valid certificate and recognized under the IT Act.

How to download Jeevan Pramaan Mobile App

According to the Jeevan Pramman website, these are the steps to download Jeevan Pramaan online

Step 1: To download the Jeevan pramaan application click on ‘Download’ tab on https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in

Step 2: Provide email-id, captcha and click on ‘I agree to Download’.

Step 3: You will receive OTP on your email-id – enter the otp.

Step 4: On entering correct OTP the download page appears – click on ‘Mobile App download’ ‘

Step 5: You will receive download link on your e-mail-id – link can be clicked only once after that it expires – Click on it – application ( apk file ) will get downloaded.

How to download and check status of Digital Life Certificate

-Once your pramaan ID is generated, you can download the Digital Life Certificate by following the link https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ppouser/login.

-One can download the PDF version of the certificate, he or she can also find out the current status of the Digital Life Certificate.

-Note that Aadhaar number or VID is a must for generating/obtaining the Jeevan Pramaan i.e. Digital Life Certificate.

Jeevaan Pramaan rejection

According to the Jeevan Pramaan website, “Contact your Pension Disbursing Agency. Jeevan Pramaan is rejected in case wrong particulars are provided by pensioner while generating the DLC. It is recommended that a new Jeevan Pramaan i.e. Pramaan-ID be generated by providing all correct information and biometrics.”

What information is required to be provided by a pensioner to generate the Jeevan Pramaan?

Pensioners have to provide Aadhaar Number, Name, Mobile Number and self-declared Pension Related Information like PPO Number, Pension Account number, Bank details, Name of Pension Sanctioning Authority, Pension Disbursing Authority, etc. They also need to provide biometrics, either Iris or Fingerprint.

Note : Incorrect information may lead to rejection of the DLC by the authorities.
