Telugu film industry to remain closed on November 16 as a mark of respect for Superstar Krishna

Superstar Krishna breathed his last on November 15 at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He suffered cardiac arrest on November 14 and was put on a ventilator. He was 79 years old. Krishna was one of the most celebrated actors in the Telugu film industry. As a mark of respect to the legend, the Telugu film industry will remain shut for a day on November 16. The Telugu Film Producers Council announced the decision with a press release. 

TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY TO SHUT DOWN FOR A DAY

Superstar Krishna will be cremated at Mahaprasthanam on November 16. He will be cremated with full state honours as instructed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. 

As a mark of respect to Superstar Krishna, the Telugu Film Producers Council announced that the industry will remain shut for a day on November 16. The council announced the same in a media interaction and through a press release.

ABOUT KRISHNA 

Krishna, who is fondly called Superstar by his fans, was one of the celebrated superstars in the history of Indian cinema. During the 60s and 80s, he was among the highest paid actors in the Telugu film industry. Apart from acting and producing films, Krishna was also a trendsetter in introducing new technologies and genres. He was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2009 for his contribution to Telugu cinema.
