The fifth Vande Bharat Express of the country and the first such train in South India was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, November 11, 2022. The green signal was given to Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express via Bengaluru city at the KSR railway station in Bengaluru. The train covers a distance of 479 km in a time period of 6 hours and 40 minutes. This initiative will provide a boost to connectivity and commercial activities by enhancing the ease of living in southern states.
Karnataka became the first state that was considered under the Bharat Gaurav scheme when the Government of Karnataka and the Ministry of Railways came together to send pilgrims from Karanataka to Kashi. Pilgrims traveling by this, will get a comfortable stay and guidance to visit Kashi, Ayodhya, and Prayagraj.

The express train will cover the route that includes Chennai Central, Bengaluru City, and Mysuru Junction.
In between the routes, it will cross Perambur, Veppampattu, Katpadi Junction, Gudupalli, and Malur.

It has only one halt that falls between Chennai central and Mysuru, which is Bengaluru City Junction.

Vande Bharat Express, which runs from Mysuru Junction to Chennai Central, is on train number 20607.
SOUTH INDIA’S FIRST VANDE BHARAT EXPRESS: PRICE
The fare for train no 20607, which starts from Chennai Central Station to Mysuru, is available at a price of Rs 1200 for a Chair Car(CC) and Rs 2295 for Executive Class(EC).
Similarly, the fare for train no 20608 Mysuru to MGR Chennai Central Station is Rs 1365 for Chair Car(CC) and Rs 2485 for Executive Class(EC).
There is no concession on the above express trains. It is available at full fares for adult tickets, which can only be issued.
