Bharti Airtel has launched a new prepaid plan at Rs 199 offering 30 days of validity. The plan offers unlimited calling with a total 3GB data limit. The plan is specially curated for users who want almost a month’s validity. It’s not the first time that the telco has introduced a prepaid plan worth Rs 199. Earlier in 2021, before the hike in the telecom sector, Airtel used to offer the same Rs 199 prepaid plan at 24 days plan validity.
According to Telecom Talk, Airtel earlier used to offer the Rs 199 plan with 1GB daily till 2021. Later the telecom operator revised the plan and started to offer 1.5GB daily data to compete with Jio’s 1.5GB daily data plan. However, now Airtel has introduced its Rs 199 plan again with longer validity but has shortened the data limit. Let’s take a detailed look at Airtel’s new prepaid plan.
Airtel Rs 199 plan details
Airtel is now offering a total data with unlimited voice calling, 300 SMS for 30 days service validity. Along with that telco has also clubbed additional benefits of the Airtel Thanks app and free Hello Tunes and Wynk Music.
Notably, after the consumption of 3G data and 300 SMS, Airtel will charge 50p per MB and Rs 1 for local SMS and Rs 1.5 STD per SMS. Also, customers will be able to send only 100 SMS per day despite 300 SMS for 30 days.
While Airtel is offering almost a month validity with this plan, the data limit of total 3GB is not suitable for users who want high-speed daily data. The plan is perfect for users who are using Airtel as a secondary SIM and want an affordable monthly recharge to continue the service.
But users who don’t want to compromise on daily high-speed data limits can go for a Rs 239 plan. The plan offers 1GB daily data limit, 100 SMS limit per day, and unlimited voice calls. Everything is offered with pack validity of Rs 24 days.
Jio Rs 199 plan details
Airtel’s competitor Jio Reliance Jio is also offering Rs 199 prepaid plan. The plan clubs 34.5GB total data with 1.5GB daily data limit, unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day at 23 days of service validity. So, if you also have a Jio SIM you can think of a Rs 199 prepaid plan by telco as it provides similar benefits combined from Airtel’s Rs 199 and Rs 239 plans.
