Bihar government signs deal for online 24×7 coaching for 45 lakh government school students

The zeal for cracking IIT-JEE among students in Bihar is unparalleled, but due to limited good schools and resources in the state, many students leave their IIT dreams. To help such government school students, who cannot afford costly coaching, the Bihar government has signed a deal with an online tutoring app — Filo– to provide 24×7 online coaching to such students.

The students enrolled can login to the app any point of time, even in the wee hours, and can get a tutor ready for them live to help them with their studies. A deal has been signed for over 45 lakh students from class VI to XII who will get free coaching. Over 1.78 lakh have started taking coaching as of now.

24X7 COACHING FACILITY FOR BIHAR STUDENTS

Imbesat Ahmad, co-founder and CEO of Filo, said, “I have been to Super 30 at the IIT Kharagpur. I have been through the struggle a common Bihari student dreaming for IIT faces. We as a team decided to work for students like us and approached the Bihar government with the unique app we have developed. In this app, a tutor is available for each student 24×7. Many students in Bihar work in the farms and get time only during the night hours when no coaching in available. At that point of time, the log into the app and get a tutor instantly.”  “We have seen the highest enrollments from Patna, Gaya, Aurangabad, Bhagalpur, and Muzaffarpur districts. It also corresponds to the highest clocked learning minutes from Bihar. Over 45 per cent of these are students from Class 11th and 12th while 38 per cent are from class ninth and 10th,” he added.

ENSURING BRIGHT FUTURE FOR STUDENTS

Deepak Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of The Department of Education, Bihar said, “We partnered with Filo to ensure a brighter future for the children of Bihar. It is heartening to see the massive response that the Filo app has received from thousands of students in a matter of a few weeks of launch, both for spot solutions and learning progression.”

“Bihar has been a major center of learning and home to one of the earliest universities of India, dating back to the fifth century. Our goal is to put Bihar on the education map again by ensuring high-quality school education for our students powered by technology,” Singh added.
