OMCs like Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation notify daily fuel price revisions, if any, at 6 am. However, petrol and diesel rates have remained steady since late May this year when finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a cut in excise duties on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre respectively.
