Tata Motors has been on a roll of late and challenging Hyundai Motor India every month for the second position in the country’s passenger vehicle (PV) market. The company has been garnering handsome volumes on the back of the growing popularity of its SUVs like the Punch, Nexon, Harrier and Safari. To augment the volumes further, Tata Motors is providing a total discount of up to Rs 60,000 on two of its SUVs this month.
The Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari have a total discount of up to Rs 60,000 in October. All variants of the two SUVs (except Jet and KZR) have an exchange discount of Rs 50,000 and no consumer scheme. However, the KZR variant has a consumer scheme of Rs 20,000 and an exchange discount of Rs 40,000, resulting in a total discount of Rs 60,000.
The Tata Harrier is priced between Rs 14.70 lakh and Rs 22.20 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). On the other hand, the Tata Safari sits in the price range of Rs 15.35 lakh to Rs 23.56 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Both SUVs employ the same 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine that develops 170PS of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque. It can be had either with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT.
The Tata Harrier mileage is claimed to be 16.35kmpl in MT and 14.6kmpl in AT, while the Tata Safari mileage is claimed to be 16.14kmpl in MT and 14.08kmpl in AT.
Tata Motors posted its highest-ever quarterly domestic PV volumes at 1,42,325 units in Q2 FY23. The previous best of 1,30,125 units was achieved in Q1 FY23.
In the July-September period, the company sold 48,787 units of the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz, 79,082 units of the Punch and Nexon, and 14,456 units of the Harrier and Safari.
