One of India’s leading airlines – Indigo – has announced eight new flights connecting various cities of India on the eve of Diwali. The flights will be operating to and from the cities like Ahmedabad, Indore, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Udaipur, Jammu, and many more.
Most of the flights will be operational for four days a week and few will be available for three days. Most of them will be effective from October 30 barring a few travelling to and from Udaipur, Bhopal, Indore and Chandigarh, which will start operating from November 1.
During the month of September, Indigo secured a market share of 57.7 percent share in the domestic aviation sector. As per the aviation regulator’s data released for September, Indigo carried 59.72 lakh air passengers during the month while Vistara carried 9.96 lakh air passengers.
Recently, the airline has also announced to launch of multiple flights from the Hollongi Airport in Arunachal Pradesh, which has recently been opened for commercial flights. The company also declared that it will start operating on wide-body aircraft this winter.
Due to global supply chain disruption, IndiGo has already faced a delay in inducting new planes according to various media reports. And almost 30 planes are grounded for want of receiving engines for the same reason.
