Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia is being questioned by the CBI in connection with the alleged scam in Delhi liquor policy case. Sisodia arrived at the agency headquarters around 11:15 am and was taken straight to the first floor of the Anti Corruption Branch, officials told news agency PTI.
The probe agency has prepared a list of questions that are likely to be asked to Manish Sisodia in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. The probable questions are as follows:
– Do you know Vijay Nair? Why was he involved in the formulation of liquor policy? Did you meet Vijay Nair ever regarding the policy or business or money being generated in this?
-As a minister, didn’t you realise that the new excise policy would reduce government revenue?
-We have evidence to prove that out of 12 percent profit being generated by liquor businessmen, 6 percent was for government servants. As a minister, can you tell us who in your government was getting money out of this?
-Why only selected liquor businessmen were involved in this business after your new policy? Was there any quid pro quo arrangement between your government and these businessmen?
-Few businessmen linked to a Telangana politician were also involved in the liquor business in Delhi? Why were they so interested in doing business in Delhi? Did you ever had any meetings with any politician from Telangana regarding the liquor business?
The central agency has already questioned a number of people, including Sameer Mahandru, the owner of Indo Spirits, Amit Arora, the director of Buddy Retail Private Limited in Gurugram. The agency has arrested Vijay Nair, an AAP worker and a former CEO of Only Much Louder, an entertainment and event management company, and Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally, whose partner Arun Pillai has been named as an accused in the CBI.
