The Indian arm of the South Korean auto giant has sold over 7,60,000 units of the Creta in the domestic market and exported over 2,59,000 units.
Hyundai was India’s leading SUV brand in 2020 with sales of 1,80,237 units and also in 2021 selling 2,52,586 units on the back of a stellar performance by the Creta.
At present, the Hyundai Creta rivals the likes of the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun and MG Astor in the mid-size SUV segment, which is arguably the most competitive passenger vehicle (PV) segment in the country.
The Creta offers a host of engine and transmission options — 1.5-litre MPi petrol with 6MT or IVT, 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel with 6MT or 6AT, and 1.4-litre Kappa T-GDi petrol with 7DCT.
The diesel variants contribute over 60 per cent to the Creta volumes, while those with automatic options make up more than 20 per cent.
The Hyundai Creta price starts at Rs 10.44 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and goes up to Rs 18.24 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
