With Durga Puja festivities just around the corner, Kolkata Metro Railway authority announced that train services will run all through the night during the last three Durga Puja days i.e., Saptami to Navami.
Metro Railway, General manager, Arun Arora announced the schedule for Durga Puja 2022 on Friday.
METRO TIMINGS
– On Saptami, Ashtami and Navami (October 2, 3 and 4), the first metro will leave Dakshineshwar at 1 pm and the last metro will depart at 3.48 pm.
– The last metro from Kabi Subhash will leave at 3.50 pm.
– The last metro from Dum Dum will be at 4 am.
– The last metro from Kabi Subhash will be at 4 am. On these three days, Saptami, Ashtami and Navami, the Metro will run 124 trains. On Panchami and Shashti, metro services will run as normal.
On Panchami and Sashthi (September 30 and October 1), Metro will run 288 trains, said Metro Rail authority.
The carrier will run 132 trains on Dasami (October 5). First metro at 1pm. On the other hand, the last metro from Dakshineswar is at 9.48 pm. The last metro from Kabi Subhash is at 9.50 pm. The last metro from Dum Dum is at 10 pm.
Metro train services will also be available on the Salt Lake-Sealdah route till night. The first train will leave Sealdah at 11.55 am and Sector V at noon. Meanwhile, the last metro will leave Sealdah at 11.35 pm and Sector V at 11.40 pm.
NUMBER OF METROS
A total of 72 metro trains will run from Saptami to Navami up and down. The metro authority said that 288 metros will run on the 5th and 6th day, 248 metros on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 132 metros will run on the 10th. 234 metros will run from Ekadashi to Treyodashi.
Meanwhile, the trial service of Joka Taratala Metro began on Thursday before the festivities. Earlier, it used to take 40 minutes to 1 hour to reach Taratala. Metro authorities claim that commuters can reach the destination within 10-15 minutes after the metro is launched. The metro rail authority said that the metro will be launched on this route during the Durga Puja.
