During the Covid-19 pandemic, Whatsapp played an important role in offering services to people by helping them download the vaccine certificate.This is an extension to the administrative support to the citizens for accessing essential documents easily. Almost 100 million people have already registered for DigiLocker, a service that will empower India to move toward digital empowerment.
WHAT IS DIGILOCKER SERVICE?
The flagship program of the Ministry of Electronics & IT (Meity) under the digital India program is known as Digilocker.
The main aim is to provide ‘Digital empowerment’ for the citizens, which helps in easy access to all the digital documents to the citizens’ digital document wallet.

- PAN card
- Driving License
- CBSE Class X Passing Certificate
- Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC)
- Insurance Policy – Two Wheeler
- Class X Marksheet
- Class XII Marksheet
- Insurance Policy Document ( Life and Non-life available on digilocker)
STEPS FOR ACCESSING DIGILOCKER SERVICE ON WHATSAPP:
Step 1: Users need to send a message ‘Namaste or Hi or Digilocker’, WhatsApp number 9013151515.
Step 2: You will receive the documents to be downloaded, like a PAN card, driver’s licence, and vehicle registration certificate over WhatsApp.
Step 3: Finally, the documents will be saved on the digilocker.
