The Jharkhand cabinet on Friday gave a nod to implement the old pension system for its state employees. A total of 55 proposals were approved by the state cabinet and it was also decided that consumers who hail from weaker economic sections would be given 100 units of free electricity.
The state cabinet also decided to provide 75 per cent reservation for jobs for locals in the private sector. It was further decided that the state government will provide an additional amount of Rs 27 to the labourers enrolled under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) and this, the minimum wage for labourers enrolled under MNREGA will be increased to Rs 237.
Congress leader Alok Dubey expressed his gratitude to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Food and Civil Supplies Minister Alok Dubey. Alok Dubey said that the decision to distribute food grains taken by the cabinet is historic and is in the best public interest, adding that it would facilitate those who are covered under the Food Security Act.
The Congress leader said that Jharkhand is going to script history on Saturday, July 16 and around 10,000 jobs will be given to youths.
Meanwhile, the monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly will begin from July 29 and will end on August 5. The state government will table its first supplementary budget for the current fiscal on August 1.
