According to the report, in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.16.3 update, there is a new icon at the bottom of the status tab that will quickly let us send a voice note to our status update
Note that the voice note will only be shared with the people you choose within your status privacy settings, and the voice note will be end-to-end encrypted as other images and videos shared to your status. Unfortunately, this feature is under development so we do not know when it will be released to beta testers, the WABetainfo report further added.
In related news, WhatsApp recently announced users will now be able to use any emoji of their choice to react to a WhatsApp message, making conversations a lot more fun and expressive. Currently, the platform gives several users the ability to react with a limited number of just six emojis.
WhatsApp is also working on a feature that will give iOS users the ability to hide their online status from everyone. As of now, users can choose to display their “Last Seen” information to contacts, some people, or no one. For a future version of the app, WhatsApp will let users follow a similar approach to the online toggle.
