Uttarakhand: Rudraprayad district administration, on Saturday, announced that Kedarnath Yatra has been stopped in the view of heavy rains from Sonprayag onwards considering the safety of the devotees amid fears of untoward incident.
Landslide in Pauri disrupts Badrinath & Kedarnath Yatra
Last week, a massive landslide near Sirobagad in Pauri that was triggered by the heavy rainfall resulted in traffic blockage, disrupting the Badrinath and Kedarnath Yatra. The traffic caused severe inconvenience to the devotees.
The incessant rains also led to boulders falling on the various Char Dham routes resulting in several casualties and injuries to over a dozen people since last Wednesday.
