The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has developed the Digilocker platform, which is a part of the Digital India programme. The initiative of Digilocker began with the aim of reducing physical documentation through paper. This will help in storing large numbers of important documents electronically. Individuals can access their Digilocker account with their Aadhaar card. Thus, it helps in sharing documents with institutions or organisations electronically by removing the need to print and photocopy.

The process of linking Aadhaar with a DigiLocker is done via Aadhaar linking with a mobile number. The application Digilocker is present on smartphones that integrates a document linked with the social ID. The documents are linked from the class 10 mark sheet to the driving license.
STEPS TO LINK AADHAAR WITH DIGILOCKER:
Step 1: Log in to the Digilocker account through credentials.
Step 2: Credentials being provided, there will be an option link that needs to enter the Aadhaar number.
Step 3: The box will be checked once the Aadhaar number you entered.
Step 4: Choose Link Now option.

Step 5: An OTP is generated and sent to the registered mobile number.
Step 6: Next enter the OTP in the required form.
Step 7: Select verify option from the drop-down menu.
Step 8: A user cannot link Aadhaar with DigiLocker if the Aadhaar is not linked with the mobile number.
