Reportedly, Kedarnath Dham pilgrims will continue to use chopper services during the monsoon this year. Referring to this, Secretary of Tourism and Civil Aviation Dilip Jawalkar stated earlier that the chopper services to Kedarnath Dham are usually discontinued by the concerned companies during monsoon.
However, he added the service would be continued even during the monsoon months this year, and will facilitate the journey of pilgrims planning to visit the revered shrine.
Reports have it that the Himalayan company will continue with the chopper services post June 30 and that Aryan Aviation would be extending its chopper service on the said route till July 5.
Pilgrims now have the option to choose chopper services to reach the revered shrine from places including Guptkashi, Phata and Sirsi of Rudraprayag district; these services are provided by nine companies. Reportedly, the Himalayan company will operate around 30-40 shuttles a day, provided the weather is ideal for flying. With this, it’s expected that around 200 to 250 pilgrims will be benefiting every day.
The bookings for chopper services are done through the official and authorised website of Uttarakhand Government. Those willing to take such services, they need to specify their date and time slot. One needs to register to be able to book a ticket.
Once this process is successful, pilgrims need to take out the print out/hard copy of the ticket, as the digital form will likely not be accepted. Also, do note that one will need to carry a valid ID proof to avail the services.
