Mumbai: The Central government on Tuesday named Anand Mahindra, Ravindra Dholakia, Venu Srinivasan and Pankaj Patel as the board of directors for the RBI. As per the updates, these new appointments will be for a period of four years. The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet gave its approval for these appointments
For the unversed, the Reserve Bank’s affairs are regulated by a central board of directors who are appointed by the Centre in keeping with the Reserve Bank of India Act.

“The Central Government has nominated Shri Anand Gopal Mahindra, Shri Venu Srinivasan, Shri Pankaj Ramanbhai Patel and Dr Ravindra H. Dholakia as part-time non-official Directors on the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India, for a period of four years with effect from June 14, 2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” RBI said in a statement.
It must be noted that the RBI central board at present has 11 members apart from the announcements made on Tuesday
