What is a masked Aadhaar?
If you wish to share your Aadhaar with someone but wish to prevent misuse of your information, you can share a masked Aadhaar with them.
A masked Aadhaar adds a layer of security by concealing the first eight digits and showing only the four digits.
For example, a masked Aadhaar will show your Aadhaar number as “xxxx-xxxx-1234”.
The other details in your Aadhaar, such as your name, address, date of birth will remain the same, allowing you to use it as an address proof in banks and other such institutions.
