The Government of India has made it mandatory for the citizens of India to link their mutual funds with Aadhaar. Therefore, along with PAN, mobile number and bank account, it is also essential to link mutual fund investments to the Aadhaar number. The process of linking PAN with Aadhaar is a one-time process that has a variety of methods, like online, offline, SMS, and via e-mail.
The process can be done directly through the Asset Management Company(AMC) of mutual funds through their respective websites. But there are some links on the home page where the updating of Aadhaar is required. There is no deadline for linking Aadhaar with mutual funds. And the process will help the government in finding the legality of the transaction made by an individual.
STEPS TO LINK AADHAAR CARD WITH MF:

ONLINE:
Step 1: ADRLNK ‘SPACE’ (PAN) ‘SPACE’ (AADHAAR NUMBER) ‘SPACE’ (Y) on the mobile phone’s keypad.
Step 2: After completing the above step, enter the name, date of birth, email ID, and phone number that is linked with Aadhaar.
Step 3: The process is also possible through mutual fund registrars and transfer agents (RTAs).RTAs like Karvy Computershare Pvt Ltd and Franklin Templeton AMIL will facilitate fund houses that they service.
Step 4: Enter information like PAN, Aadhaar number, name, date of birth and gender.
Step 5: As per the user’s investments, they need to choose all the fund houses that are displayed on the screen.
Step 6: Tap to ‘generate OTP’.
Step 7: Now verify the OTP, where after the completion of the process, an acknowledgement email will be sent by the UIDAI
OFFLINE:
Step 1: AMC can be called directly for linking Aadhaar that might need filling data and its submission with relevant data.
Step 2: The individuals who are linking through CAMS or Karvy need to download forms for the Aadhaar update requests from the official portal.
Step 3: Then you need to submit the filled form and sign the form from the nearest CAMS of Karvy office with a self-attested copy of their Aadhaar.

SMS:
Step 1: ADRLNK on the mobile phones keypad.
Step 2: Send it to 9212993399 from the registered phone number under Karvy.
Step 3: After the procedure is done, a confirmation message will be sent to the mobile number.
EMAIL:
The linking of Aadhaar and MF can be done by sending an email with the Aadhaar number and PAN details.
