Reliance Jio has announced that it will offer complementary services to customers in flood-hit Assam & North East as a relief measure. The telecom operator has revealed that it will be offering a four-day unlimited plan to these users to help them connect to their loved ones and other people.
According to the company, the eligible Jio customers will get unlimited free calls to any network and data service as well for four days at no cost. The plan includes up to 1.5GB of data per day, along with 100 SMS per day for a period of four days. Those who are based in the affected districts of Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong East, Karbi Anglong West, Hojai and Cachar in Assam, will be able to avail the benefits.
Reliance Jio is sending a message to customers in Assam, which says “During last few days your service experience was impacted due to extreme weather conditions. As a goodwill gesture, we have applied a COMPLIMENTARY 4-DAY UNLIMITED PLAN on your number.”
“There is ongoing rain in many areas and the situation may deteriorate further. The IMD has given an RED ALERT for the State. In some of the areas, the network is cut off and customers are not contactable, whereas in other areas customers are unable to do recharges due to travel constraints. This plan is a timely humanitarian gesture to the affected customers of Jio,” Reliance Jio said.
How to check eligibility for free 4-day unlimited Jio plan
Reliance Jio is sending an SMS to everyone who is eligible for the free unlimited prepaid plan, so if you are based in the above-mentioned regions, then you should get it. One can simply go to the MyJio app to check the balance. Once you open the app, you will find a hamburger menu on the top left corner of the screen. You just need to tap on it and tap again on My Plans. Here, you will be able to check if you have received the free 4-day unlimited plan from Jio.
