It’s summer time, and also the ripe time for yummy fruits! With both the spring as well summer fruits in the market, there is an abundance of options! But are these fruits just good for overall nutrition? No! Turns out that fruits for skin care can be amazing! Come, let us get some DIY skincare tips with fruits.

Simple DIYs that involve fruits for skin care:

1. Pomegranate

Pomegranate contains vitamin C, which helps in the renewal of collagen in your skin layer. If you are one of those girls who likes to have collagen powder in your coffee, then how about adding plant-based collagen to your skin. Adding pomegranate juice with yoghurt, green tea and honey act as a power-boosting face mask. They not only prevent acne breakouts and aid skin rejuvenation but also act as anti-ageing remedies. Pomegranates are an excellent source for skin brightening as well.

2. Papaya

If you are buying Alpha Hydroxy Acid peels from a drug or beauty store, then stop buying it. We are giving you an internal scoop about papaya! A great acid peel solution in your kitchen. While ripe papaya might be a yummy snack, the fruit also contains enzymes which help in decreasing inflammation! These enzymes can be found in many exfoliating products, which reduce acne by removing dead skin cells that clog pores. Use papaya as a scrub or even as a papaya face mask along with honey, curd and even rosewater!

3. Watermelon

Our favourite summer fruit, the watermelon is more than just a juicy delight! It contains vitamin E which is a key antioxidant that helps in skin rejuvenation. It also contains vitamin C, which helps brighten up your complexion to boost your overall glow. Applying the peels of watermelon on your skin leaves it with a refreshed and soothing feeling. It also helps with hydration. Furthermore, face masks can be made with pulp.

4. Muskmelon

These fruits are only getting better! The juicy muskmelon is also a great fruit to make your skin soft and glowing. It keeps skin hydrated, and is packed with nutrients such as vitamins A, B and C, which keeps skin healthy and young. Like with watermelon, even muskmelon can be used to hydrate and cool your skin to avoid heat boils and other inflammation.

5. Chikoo

Chikoo is an excellent source of antioxidants and helps with skin texture. Chikoo can make for excellent exfoliants when used with honey and sugar. Adding crushed almonds or walnuts will help with exfoliation too! Almonds and walnuts along with the ‘sapotas’ help in deep cleansing and removing stubborn blackheads!

6. Sweet lime

Drying the peels of sweet lime, and mixing them with organic turmeric powder and honey serves as an excellent tan remover. Just using sweet lime directly on the face in circular motions will help in deep cleansing of the skin and removing dead skin.

7. The controversial tomato

Tomato, while balancing between if it’s a fruit or a vegetable, surely balances your skin and helps your face glow! Add it with some oats, which have anti-inflammatory properties. So, if you are facing sun rashes, it’s a good remedy, in the proportion of 1/3rd + 1/4th tomato pulp, and you have an excellent natural scrub.
