Using this masked Aadhaar card ID issued by UIDAI, only the last 4 digits of an individual’s Aadhaar card are visible. In the masked Aadhaar card ID, the first 8 base numbers of the Aadhaar card are written as ‘XXXX-XXXX’. Therefore, a person’s Aadhaar card number becomes invisible to strangers, which prevents Aadhaar cards from being misused.

Step 1: Login to the official UIDAI website and click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option;
Step 2: Select Aadhaar / VID / Enrollment ID option and tick at masked Aadhaar option;
Step 3: Enter the details sought there and click on the ‘Request OTP’ option;
Step 4: An OTP will be sent on your Aadhaar-registered mobile number;
Step 5: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Download Aadhaar’; and
Step 6: Now, your masked Aadhaar card will become available for download.

Password protection will be available for the masked Aadhaar, and it will be available in PDF format. After downloading, you will receive a masked Aadhaar card password on your email.
