Travelling in 2022
While on one hand, news from the United Kingdom suggest that a new COVID strain, called XE, might be our next big worry, the travel world on the other paints a whole different image. Regular flights have been restored, countries have reopened, and some have even relaxed all previously held travel rules.
During such a time, it is only sensible to look around and wonder if it is really safe to travel. It could be, if you are taking all the necessary precautions.

Booster shot
You should opt for a booster shot to be on the safe side. After all, the number of COVID cases did reduce worldwide since people got vaccinated. So if the travel bug has bitten you, and you are planning to go out and explore the world, it is far better to be safe than sorry. Get all your vaccinations sorted, and you are much more likely to have a good time without falling sick. Also, a number of countries have made it mandatory for travellers to have booster shots before their arrival.

Doing research
The most important thing here is to do your research. Pick a country of your choice and see what are the COVID numbers of that country. The current infection rates, the death rates, and even the number of people vaccinated, will give you a clear picture of the country’s COVID situation. Compare that with another country of your choice, and then decide. Of course, the availability of flights and hotels are also important here.

Picking an apt accommodation
Ever since the pandemic started, people have been opting for homestays over hotels. A homestay that is set apart, away from the crowd, without the intervention of too many people, is always safer than hotels. Better yet, some places have even started caravans for travellers, which might be even more beneficial in terms of keeping yourself safe from the virus.

How to travel?
Another important thing to consider is how to travel. If it is possible to take the road, that’s your best option. Flights are better than trains simply because your journey is for a shorter period of time, and you are not exposed to too many people like how you are in a train.
