The domestic equity market closed with decent gains on Monday after trading lower during most parts of the session yesterday.
The domestic equity market closed with decent gains on Monday after trading lower during most parts of the session yesterday. The broader Nifty managed to close above 17,200, while the Sensex ended with over 200 points gain. Benchmarks Nifty50 and the Sensex ended at 17,222 and 57,593 respectively. Buying interest was seen in PSU Bank, Oil & gas, private bank and auto stocks, while Consumer Durable, IT, Pharma and Healthcare were among top losers.
Meanwhile, Asian markets were trading higher in the morning trade with Japanese Nikkei gaining over 0.6%, Hang Seng Index at the Hong Kong Exchange up over 0.8% and Chinese Shanghai Composite was seen trading flat at 8 am. SGX Nifty Futures too was trading higher by more than 100 points on the Singaporean exchange around the same time on Monday.
