The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has been engaged in filing a Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) at the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The primary market in India is waiting for the SEBI’s approval for the LIC IPO. The ones whose LIC policy is not linked with the PAN need to link it on or before February 28, 2022, to become an eligible policyholder for application in the upcoming public issue.
LIC has asked their customers to link them with the Permanent Account Number (PAN) with insurance policies. They can complete the formalities through the official website where the central government has increased the deadline till March 2022. Now the digital initiative has helped customers to register from their homes. You need to provide the LIC policy number, PAN, Email, and mobile number. This will not let them visit the LIC policy physically.
The policyholders need to have an active mobile number to get the OTP for LIC verification. After the users have filled out the form, a message will be displayed on the successful registration of the request made.

Here are the steps to link PAN with the LIC policy for a hassle-free registration process:
- Go to the official LIC website by clicking on the link at https://licindia.in/.
- Once you get on the home page, tap on the ‘Online PAN Registration’ button.
- Tap the ‘Proceed’ button in the Online PAN Registration window.
- Provide email-ID, PAN, mobile number, and LIC policy number correctly.
- Enter the Captcha Code.
- Now request for OTP from your registered mobile number.
- After getting the OTP, you need to enter the digits on the portal and submit it.
- Once the details are mentioned properly, the page will display a window communicating that the registration request is successfully made.
How to check PAN-LIC link status:
Click on https://linkpan.licindia.in/UIDSeedingWebApp/getPolicyPANStatus link to check the status.
Next, you need to enter the policy number, date of birth, and PAN number.

Later, enter the captcha code and tap on the submit button.
You will be able to check the status of your LIC policy and PAN link.
