Over the last 24 hours, the total volume in the decentralised finance (DeFi) space stood at $17.05 billion, constituting around 15.65 percent of the 24-hour cryptocurrency trading volume. The total volume in stablecoins stood at $90.04 billion, around 82.62 percent of the 24-hour cryptocurrency trading volume. Ruble-bitcoin trading volume surged to a nine-month high as the Russian currency collapsed against the dollar in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. According to data by blockchain analytics company Kaiko, published in Coindesk, ruble-denominated bitcoin trades blew up by as much as $1.5 billion. The Israeli defence ministry has announced the seizure of digital wallets containing cryptocurrency allegedly intended to fund the terrorist group Hamas. Defence minister Benny Gantz signed a seizure order for 30 wallets containing tens of thousands of shekels linked to 12 digital accounts, according to a press statement issued by the National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing of Israel (NBCTF). The wallets belonged to businesses that “assisted the Al’matchadun currency exchange company belonging to the Shamlach family declared by the Defense Minister as a terror organization,” with some of the seized cryptocurrency owned by the Shamlach family directly, a statement said. The Canadian outpost of the global accounting firm KPMG has purchased a World of Women (WoW) NFT and an Ethereum Name Service domain name just weeks after adding bitcoin and ethereum to its corporate treasury. KPMG Canada has purchased two NFTs so far. It bought World of Women #2681 and minted kpmgca.eth. It paid 25 ETH ($70,000) for Woman #2681, who has blue skin and wavy hair.“Women are underrepresented in the world of all things crypto, which makes us proud to make our first NFT acquisition in a collection that supports women,” KPMG Partner and National Risk Consulting Leader Nancy Chase said in a statement.
