“Can the worker update his/her photo on e-SHRAM portal? For more details visit http://eshram.gov.in,” the Directorate General of Labour Welfare recently tweeted from its official Twitter handle.
How to update photo on e-Shram portal?
The workers must know that to update the photo on e-Shram portal, at the time of registration, the photo is pulled from Aadhaar services, therefore provision to update photo is not available. However, if worker’s photo is updated in Aadhaar, same will be reflected on e-Shram portal as well after Aadhaar authentication.

What is e-Shram portal?
The central government rolled out a national database for unorganised workers for the overall welfare of crores of these workers of the country. The e-Shram Portal was launched on August 26, 2021 and the government also provides the e-Shram card to the workers.
Documents required for e-Shram registration
The workers should have these essential documents for registration on e-Shram portal – Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar-linked mobile number and bank account number – for the e-Shram portal.

e-Shram registration process
One must know the steps to register at e-Shram portal. They are as follows:
Step 1: Login to the official website at eshram.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the ‘Register on e-SHRAM’ link which is present on the home page
Step 3: Enter the Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP
Step 4: Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process
It can be noted that if a worker does not have Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/ she can visit nearest CSC’s and register through Biometric authentication.
