The new Kia Carens made its debut in India today. Slated for a market launch early next year, the Carens is the Korean carmaker’s fourth product here.
Kia has revealed its Carens RV for India. The Carens is the fourth new product from Kia in India and is a three-row crossover/SUV for India. The Carnes fits in below the Carnival but unlike the Carnival is not an MPV outright. The Carens is based on the Seltos platform but uses a different design language. There are large and slim headlamps while the grille comes across as interesting with the two part-design. The headlamps are LED units along with DRLs.
The side reveals a simple yet straightforward design yet also getting cladding and roof rails. The rear also gets a full-length light bar that runs across along with sharp tail lamps. You can also see that the glass area has been increased along with a bigger glass area for third-row occupants. The Carens is available with either six or seven seater forms with the six-seater getting a captain seat lay-out.
The interior also has a 10.25-inch touchscreen plus a full digital instrument cluster along with a dual-tone colour scheme. The features are also there like a sunroof, air purifier, connected tech, ambient lighting, rear table, integrated cupholders etc. The Carens will come with a set of engines including a 1.4 turbo petrol motor along with a DCT automatic gearbox. There is also a diesel 1.5l and a petrol 1.5l with manual/automatic options. The petrol 1.5l will come with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic while the diesel will come with either a manual or a torque converter automatic. This has been a global reveal for the Carens and the car would be launched early next year
