Indian travellers vaccinated with Covaxin, can now travel to Switzerland. While sharing an official update on the approval of Covaxin, Switzerland Tourism noted that all fully vaccinated travellers from India can now travel to Switzerland without undergoing quarantine, and will be required to undertake COVID-19 test upon arrival.
As per the reports, after the World Health Organisation (WHO) gave its nod to India’s indigenously made vaccine for emergency use, Switzerland has also now decided to allow Indian travellers vaccinated with Covaxin, to enter the European tourist hotspot. As those inoculated with Covishield, they were already allowed entry from September 2021.
As such, fully vaccinated tourists, who have taken both the doses of either Covaxin or Covishield, will now only be required to fill in an entry form and present COVID vaccination certificate on arrival in Switzerland. Further, those travellers have also been exempted from quarantine and tests, who have recovered from COVID-19 within the last 6 months.

Further, the Embassy of Switzerland in Delhi and VFS Global have also started accepting applications for all types of Schengen Swiss visas, including Type C (which includes entry and a stay of up to 90 days within a period of 180 days). Therefore, all those vaccinated travellers can now apply for their visa applications across VFS Global centres in Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, Cochin, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
Those travelling with kids, can fill the entry form of their children along with the adult travelling with them. Those under the age of 16, will not be required to show proof of a negative Coronavirus test, whereas they will also remain exempted from the test requirement on entry, as well as the test requirement within 4-7 days of arrival.
However, those visiting other Schengen countries internally from Switzerland or transiting through other countries to Switzerland might be restricted, which will depend on the travel regulations outlined by the said country.
