Aadhaar Card update: An Aadhaar card holder can update Aadhaar details online by using the official SSUP portal
In India, the Aadhar Card has become one of the most important documents to identify a citizen. Unlike its peers like Voter ID card, PAN card and others, an Aadhar card serves several purposes. It acts as a proof of identity for an Indian citizen — including his or her date of birth, address and other details. Aadhar cards can also be linked with one’s phone number, bank, etc. to do various official work. Given the importance of Aadhar, it is necessary for an individual to make sure that all the details that he or she has on the card are correct. If not, the individual is required to update them as soon as possible.
Aadhaar card, issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), is one of its kind document. The card has biometric credentials like fingerprints and iris of the person besides usual details on an identity document like the name, date of birth, gender and address.
